In the middle of January, our UMS and UHS communities woke up to a blanket of snow and ice covering the Memphis area.
Busted pipes, larger potholes, and power outages were a few of the effects students, faculty, and staff faced in preparing to return to school.
“I have a lot of experience, so I am able to reorgnize lessons into appropriate amounts of time,” Dr. Livingston, UHS faculty member, said about the longer term effects of the ice storm.
Teachers across the Orgel Educational Center worked to shift lessons and ensure all Tigers stayed on track.
Now, as we close out the third quarter and the temperatures continue to rise, the memories of the January snow and ice storm fade but we will remember these lessons as winter approaches next year.
