This quarter, students have been preparing for the testing season, dedicating countless hours to reviewing materials, practice assessments, and group study sessions. Teachers have also been actively engaging their classes in focused lessons, reinforcing key concepts and providing strategies to tackle different question formats.
Students have also been encouraged to manage their time effectively and practice self-care to reduce stress. Many have started regularly going to tutoring and asking for extra assistance with their work as they navigate through this challenging period.
"I'll study my old notes for units I'm weaker in, and I'll take practice tests to help study," said 10th-grade student Ashlynn James.
As the testing dates approach, the atmosphere feels like a mix of anticipation and determination, with students striving to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
"To prepare for the upcoming test, I have been studying on my own time and practicing using Naviance test prep and going to tutoring for classes I need extra help with," said 11th-grade student Ayva Abney.
Though some students feel that they're ready to take on the challenge of testing, others have expressed their doubts. "I do not feel prepared for the upcoming testing season because I have yet to start studying, and it has been hard to make time to study," said Brooklyn Smith, an 11th-grade student.
