The regional spelling bee held at the Michael D. Rose Theater was a big success.
The spelling bee was on Friday March 22nd, 60 competitors from 60 different schools all around the Memphis metro area. The winner of the spelling bee was a third grader named “Josh” from farmington.
The list of the words for the spelling bee was sent via FedEx to ensure that the list would not get hacked.
The top 5 schools in the spelling bee were Farmington, Huston, Harding Academy, Christ The King Lutheran school, MUS, Bartlett elementary.
Josh Czupryk The organizer of the spelling bee said ”we were really excited to welcome 60 students from public, private and charter schools from across the county to the campus of the university of memphis.”
Charlie Fagala from Houston Middle School got second place. He said that the word he got out on was sepulchral. He said he felt really excited when he got into the top 3.
If you want to get into the regional spelling bee next year make sure to do well in the school wide spelling bee next year.
