The Middle School at JIS uses Google Classroom for it's Learning Management System. Teachers are able to post announcements, resources, and assignments. Though Google Classroom is mainly for students, there is a parent component called Google Guardian Summaries that helps you keep track of your child's school work.
Google Guardian Summaries notify parents about:
announcements, assignments that are posted by teachers.
Work that's due for today or the week (depending on the email notification that you select)
Any missing work that was not turned in when the summary was sent.
You will receive an email invite to become a Guardian at the beginning of the school year. After you accept the invitation, you can select whether you would like to receive a daily or weekly summary in your inbox.
If you are not getting Guardian Summaries yet, please contact one of your child's teachers and they will input you into the system.

The Guardian Summary email is only for notification purposes. Clicking on the email will not get you into Google Classroom.
If you do not see one of your child's courses listed in a Guardian Summary, don't worry. You will only see updates from classes that have posted something new.
Occasionally students forget to click on the Submit button if an assignment has a due date. If you are receiving a notification that your child has missing work, please login to Google Classroom with them to check and see if they turned in their work electronically.
If you are confused about anything in the Guardian Summary, please login to Google Classroom with your child before contacting the teacher.
In your Guardian email, at the bottom of any email summary, click Notification Settings.
If you haven't already, sign in to your Google Account.
Under Frequency, click the down arrow and select your preferred frequency of notifications: Weekly, Daily, or No summaries.
Select your timezone.
Close the browser tab when you're done.
If the email address that you get summaries delivered to isn’t a Google Account, you can create a new Google Account with the non-Gmail address. You can then see and update the email summary settings and change the frequency of notifications, while still being able to receive the Summary notifications in your non-Gmail account.
In your email program, at the bottom of any email summary, click settings. ---------------------------------------------->
On the email settings page, click Create New Account.
Fill in the requested information and submit.
You should be able to change the notification settings after that to "Daily".
