East Jackson Middle School Community,
As we enjoy a long weekend and head into the month of September, I want to send a shoutout to all of our students and staff for their continued hard work to start the year. Students have been dedicated to achieving their full potential, and teachers have been willing to support our students in any way necessary. Teachers and students are embracing new challenges and are committed to rising above and soaring beyond.
September is National Literacy Month. Literacy plays a pivotal role in the middle school years, as it serves as the foundation for academic success and opportunities to grow as a learner. Proficient literacy skills enable students to comprehend complex subject matter across content areas, and effectively express their thoughts and ideas. Moreover, literacy fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills that empower middle schoolers to make informed decisions and navigate the challenges of adolescence. It turns students from individuals who learn to read, into individuals who read to learn.
Congratulations to Virginia Fouche, EJMS 23-24 Teacher of the Year, and Brittany Hewll, the Support Person of the Year. Your dedication and commitment to education are truly commendable and have not gone unnoticed. Ms. Fouche, your passion for teaching has undoubtedly made a significant impact on the lives of your students, inspiring them to learn, grow, and excel. Your innovative approaches to education have set a shining example for your colleagues and the entire school community. Ms. Hewell, your unwavering support behind the scenes has been invaluable in creating a nurturing and efficient learning environment. Your hard work and dedication ensure that the school runs smoothly, allowing teachers and students to focus on their educational journey. Both of you embody the essence of excellence in education, and we are grateful for your outstanding contributions. Keep up the fantastic work, and know that your efforts are shaping the future of our students in the most positive way.
EJMS Community, thank you for all that you do and please do not hesitate to reach out should you have questions, comments, needs, or concerns. Wishing you all a restful weekend and an exciting start to September.
Sincerely,
Johnathan Harris

This hub will have information specific to your child's teacher. You will find information about the teacher, contact information, a daily schedule, grade level standards, etc.
If you have an Infinite Campus parent portal account, you already have an account created! Please see the attached picture for your username and password.
