Do you want to witness an EJMS teacher getting slimed? It's time to dig out your spare change!

Next week, eight teachers will compete in a March Madness slime tournament. The teacher who collects the most money after each match will move on to the next round. Stay tuned for the bracket announcement next week! All funds raised will support EJMS PTO.


It’s time to GET YOUR GLOW ON! The 5th Annual EJ Beta Neon Night 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, April 20th at East Jackson Comprehensive High School. This year, we will have a One Mile Fun Run at 7:30pm for students ages 10 and Under followed by the Neon Night 5K at 8:00pm for runners and walkers of all ages. Medals will be awarded to winners in each age group, and the overall winners will also receive trophies. Kona Ice of Commerce will be on site along with concessions benefitting EJES Elementary Beta. 


Early registration includes a black race tee shirt with neon pink logo and a foam glow-stick, which will also be available for on-site registrants while supplies last. The cost for registration is $15 for the One Mile Fun Run, $25 for the Neon Night 5K if registered by April 10th, and $30 late registration fee for the 5K up to race time. 


All proceeds from this event go towards funding student scholarships and providing leadership training experiences for East Jackson students.

Tuesday was World Social Work Day and the Jackson County School System is appreciative of the four full-time social workers who commit their professional lives to the betterment of our students and community. 

It's Music in Our Schools Month! This March, we're celebrating the magic that music brings to our classrooms. 

Students are having fun and learning about engineering by making and testing paper airplanes! 

In Mr. Layfield's sixth-grade science class, students conducted a lab illustrating how the shifting of tectonic plates alters the Earth's surface.

Check out our sixth-grade science students diving into an Edible Soil Lab, exploring the fascinating world of Soil Horizons with hands-on learning and delicious treats! 

Maci and Kailey have both completed the Tower of Books Challenge in Mrs. Kwiatkowski's class! Great job! Keep Reading! 

Sixth grade students are applying their new coordinate graphing skills inspired by a popular game they play!

This hub will have information specific to your child's teacher. You will find information about the teacher, contact information, a daily schedule, grade level standards, etc.

The Jackson County School System will be hosting open houses for the 2024-25 school year on two days this upcoming July. All middle and high schools will host their school specific open house events on Monday, July 29, with all elementary schools hosting on Tuesday, July 30. The first day of school for the 2024-25 school year is Thursday, Aug. 1.
