It's National Jr. Beta Club Week!
We encourage you to participate by dressing up each day and contributing to our local Little Libraries by bringing in a gently used book.

We will not have buses to take children home.

JCSS Student Art Show
The Jackson County School System Student Art Show will be held in March. The exhibit will be open to the public on Thursday, March 14, and Monday, March 18 from 3-4 p.m. The Reception and Awards Ceremony for middle and high school students will be held Wednesday, March 20 from 6-7 p.m. and Thursday, March 21 from 6-7 p.m. for elementary students. The art show will be held at the Empower College and Career Center.

Congrats to Carter Varnedoe, Kameron Fortson, Addie Kate Odom, and Avril Avellaneda-Castro for receiving the Youth Merit Award from the Jefferson Rotary Club. These students were selected by their teachers for exemplifying Rotary's values of service, leadership, and dependability.
We are excited to recognize Mrs. Crow and 6th-grade student, Ashlyn Tallent, for being selected as this month's EJMS Mindset Heroes for Attitude of Gratitude! Their positivity and kindness truly shine in our school every day.
Dr. Brown Named NSPRA Superintendent To Watch
Jackson County School System Superintendent Dr. Philip Brown has been named a 2023 Superintendent to Watch by the National School Public Relations Association. This acknowledgment is in recognition of a Superintendent's innovation and effective use of technology to engage and inform the school community, and to expand two-community and outreach efforts.
Way to go, Dr. Brown!
Clinic Information
The Jackson County School System will no longer be offering over-the-counter medications to students.
Medications including Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Pepto Bismol, Tums, and Benadryl will no longer be offered.
If your student(s) will require these medications during school hours, the medication must be brought to the school and registered into the clinic by a parent/guardian.
No medications should be kept in a student’s possession while at school without a physician’s approval and note.
Canvas Information
Parents have access to Canvas Parent Observer accounts. These accounts will allow you to see an overview of what your child is learning and have access to a "Parent Resource" hub. This hub will have information specific to your child's teacher. You will find information about the teacher, contact information, a daily schedule, grade level standards, etc.
If you have an Infinite Campus parent portal account, you already have an account created! Please see the attached picture for your username and password.

Important Reminder
If you have a student who is not currently enrolled in a Pre-Kindergarten program inside the Jackson County School System, please visit www.jacksonschoolsga.org/register to enroll your student in Kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year. Families with Pre-K students who currently attend a JCSS elementary school are not required to enroll their student in Kindergarten.

Plan Ahead!
The Jackson County School System will be hosting open houses for the 2024-25 school year on two days this upcoming July. All middle and high schools will host their school specific open house events on Monday, July 29, with all elementary schools hosting on Tuesday, July 30. The first day of school for the 2024-25 school year is Thursday, Aug. 1.
