PS 16 has generously contributed a shelf and numerous books to PURE Youth, a non-profit organization, to support their initiative of establishing a mini-library for the York Street Project. PURE Youth is dedicated to promoting awareness of the impact of education on society through various projects and fundraising efforts aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Goals. Many members of the Jersey City Pure Youth Chapter are former students of PS 16 and take pride in being part of the school's vibrant community.
The donated library aims to offer accessible resources to children of all ages in the daycare program, who deeply appreciate the donation. The Pure Youth team extends a special thank you to Mrs. Hennessey for the book donation and Mrs. Jackson for facilitating the shelf donation. They express their gratitude to them and the wonderful PS 16 staff for their support in making this project a reality.
Celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Month, the fantastic second-graders from Mrs. Gauch’s classroom put the spotlight on their super moms, mixing Mother's Day cheer with AAPI glory!
