The next Burroughs Greek Trip takes us to sites throughout Magna Graecia: the southern part of the Italian peninsula and Sicily. The trip is open* to all alumni and parents, past & present, faculty, and current students with priority given to those studying Greek or Latin. Students currently in the 9th grade or below must be accompanied by at least one parent. Enrollment for the trip is now closed. Participants rendezvous in Naples on Saturday, June 7, and are free to return home (or head elsewhere!) from Palermo, Sicily on Saturday, June 21. The JBS travel group will sail from Palermo for Naples on Friday night, June 20.
The tour leaders are Philip Barnes and Jim Lowe, Classics teachers with a combined 73+ years of service to Burroughs and 50 years' experience of leading study trips abroad. Jeanne Gillanders, a member of the Burroughs English faculty, will also accompany the group.
On these pages you will find relevant information, including a day-by-day itinerary.
*PLEASE NOTE: Travelers with mobility limitations may not be able to participate fully in some activities. Some walks are lengthy, and on uneven terrain at archaeological sites.
