Day 2 (Saturday, June 7): Arrival at Cuma/Bacoli; LAVINUM wine resort

The JBS travel group lands at 10:00 hrs. at Naples airport, from where Bus Sibilla will take them to the Villa Vergiliana, Via Cuma 320, Bacoli. Once at the Harry Wilks Study Center, which is situated in the historic Villa Vergiliana, travelers can enjoy the grounds and explore the house. Some intrepid souls may venture to the acropolis of Cuma, located within walking distance. 

For those arriving at the Naples airport but NOT in the JBS group, they should take a taxi to the Villa, which is 11 miles away. Anyone traveling by train should similarly take a taxi; it is 15 miles from the central Naples railway station.

We will be accommodated at the Villa, with a few at the adjacent guesthouse, The Lemon Tree. After an afternoon rest, at 5:30 pm we will travel to LAVINUM, a wine ‘resort’ in nearby Monte di Procida, where we are introduced to local wine making and the distinctive viticulture of Campania, the province located around Mount Vesuvius. After visiting the vineyard, we will enjoy a light dinner in the resort.
