Your child will react to their name by looking at you, smiling, cooing, gurgling, moving arms/legs, wiggling, and/or changing facial expression.
While holding your child, you say their name and maintain eye contact. Your child looks at you as you say their name.
In the video below, this parent plays a peek-a-boo style game! "Where did Noa go?"
The parent asks the first time, "Where did Noa go?" and drops the blanket lightly.
The child does not react (is still learning the game!)
The parent repeats using the same language, "Where did Noa go?" and drops the blanket lightly.
The child smiles in response.
Repeating the game, the child has many opportunities to hear her name (bombardment).
