Kat Ross is a parent of a child who was born with hearing loss and a Family to Family Support Coordinator for HATCH. After the birth of their daughter, Mary, in 2012, Kat and her husband, Kevin, began an unexpected journey raising a child with hearing loss.
At times, it has been confusing, scary, emotional, and frustrating. Let’s be real! It is never easy to discover there is something atypical with your child. However, the times of joy, excitement, pride and relief have far outweighed the negative moments.
There is a wonderful community of “helpers” out there, and Kat has extensive knowledge in helping you connect with the right people to support you and your child’s specific needs. She has walked this path before and will light the way for you!
Kat received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College with an emphasis in Psychology and worked in the Boise School District for many years. She also worked as the Executive Director of Idaho Hands and Voices and was part of the team to bring hearing aid legislature to Idaho.
In her free time, Kat loves adventures, cooking and relaxing in McCall with her family.

Lesa Coleman is the mother of 6 children; 2 of these cute girls, Corinne and Emily, have moderate-profound hearing loss. The girls were diagnosed in Chicago, IL where the Colemans lived for 5 years doing lots of early intervention, Cued Speech and speech-language therapy, in and around downtown Chicago. The Colemans moved back to their hometown, Boise, Idaho, to raise their family.
Corinne and Emily recently graduated from college! Corinne is now a pediatric audiologist at St. Luke’s. Emily has a degree in advertising and is a new mom.
Through the years, Lesa benefited from meeting many wise parents and professionals who gave great help and comfort along the hearing loss journey. Lesa has been involved with hearing loss family support for many years. She has helped with the Idaho EHDI System, Hands & Voices, and Cued Language, and was happy to be on the team that helped bring Hearing Aid legislation to Idaho.
Lesa is a National Park enthusiast and loves reading American History and children’s literature.
