President

Hello Delegates!

Welcome to the Security Council!

My name is Sarah Lin and it is my honour to serve as your President of the Security Council at IASAS 2019 this year.

I was born in Australia and raised travelling between Sydney, Beijing, Hong Kong, and Singapore. I first started MUN in the 7th Grade, after heavy, heavy pushing from my parents, and utterly despised every last part of it. I was a shy kid who hated all forms of socializing and public speaking; of course I despised MUN. But, over the course of the past 5 years, MUN has become an all-consuming and absolutely incredible part of my high school experience. It has given me unforgettable memories, invaluable lessons, and some of my best friends, and I am so excited, albeit also very sad, to be your Chair at IASAS 2019, my 23rd and final conference. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you all in November!

Deputy President

Hello everyone! My name is Arun Ramanathan, a senior at Taipei American School and I am pleased to serve as your deputy chair for the Security Council at IASAS MUN 2019. I’ve done MUN for 7 years now and this will be my 12th and last conference. For me Model United Nations has been a way to express myself and meet new people from around the world. Outside of MUN I am passionate about community service and watching sports, especially football. I look forward to being able to meet all of you in November, and hope to see some exciting and fun debate at the conference. Cheers!
