ISB is an active member of the Central and Eastern European School Association (CEESA) - a regional collective of schools that organizes activities and athletics. Students selected for CEESA teams have the opportunity to travel to compete and participate with other CEESA schools. In order to be eligible to represent ISB in these events, students must be in good standing, both academically and socially. It is required that students who sign up for CEESA activities and athletics will host traveling students when ISB hosts a CEESA event, regardless of whether they make the team or not.
Athletic events are categorized by the level of play at a particular school. ISB participates in Speech and Debate, Knowledge Bowl, math competitions, Model United Nations, music ensembles, soccer, basketball and volleyball. The interaction with students from other schools and the experience of different cultures provides lifetime memories for many students. Many schools live-stream CEESA events, thereby allowing parents and the various school communities to follow the progress of students.
Information about ISB’s extra-curricular program, as well as access to the current CEESA event calendar, is available on the school’s website and through the ISB weekly e-newsletter: The Dragon’s Dispatch (Athletics and Activities Director section).
Commitment to a CEESA team or activity requires students to participate fully in scheduled practices and rehearsals to the very best of their ability. Students who miss more than three sessions in a season will be asked to exit that activity. If a student drops out of an activity after sign ups they will be ineligible for any other activity during that season.
