Welcome to my STEM class. In this class, we start with Scratch, which is a programming language developed by MIT. In Scratch, you will learn to program sprites (avatars) to do different things. Later, you will learn about programming webpages in JavaScript!
You have different projects from which you can choose. All students are required to complete two Scratch projects, Animate My Name and Museum of Me.
I, of course, follow the school's (and District 20's) universal grading policy. Grading is done entirely in Google Classroom, except the final grade is input into PupilPath. It is implemented as follows:
1) 5% of your grade comes from your notebooks and homework. Your notebooks will be collected once a week and graded every week.
2)25% of your grade will be from participation. Each day, you will get a participation grade. 1/3 of this grade will be your participation in Peardeck. The rest will be based on the rest of the work you do in class.
3)25 of your grade will be from the project in which you are working. You will get a weekly grade.
4) 45% of your grade will be from the exams given every quarter.
