Amplify is the science curriculum for most schools grades K to 8. I think this app is elementary school, but I don't really know.

EdPuzzle is a service that lets you break up videos into segments and ask kids (or adults) questions at the end of the breaks. Increases student engagement. I recommend using a similar feature found in NearPod instead.
EPIC! is a digital library for kids.
Flipgrid a highly-recommended program that lets kids (and grownups) create their own videos.
Freegal Music lets you download music onto your iPad.

Classroom is a online learning management system. Many schools in NYC and elsewhere us it.
Docs is software that lets kids create and share documents online.
Drive - Online storage of documents and other files - this is integrated with Google Docs, Classroom, Sheets, Slides, Jamboard and other Google stuff.
Hangouts - Online chat for students - this may or may not be disabled. Talk to the school Google Admins to get it enabled.
GMail - Google's email service.
Jamboard is Google's version of a whiteboard. Great for all subjects.
Google Meets - Like Zoom, but from Google and better.
Google Sheets - Google's spreadsheet software & answer to Apple Keynote and VisiCalc.
Google Translate lets you translate text to different languages

Imagine Learning is ELA, Math and Language (español) software for the younger crowd (I think K-3)
IXL is an online program that gives kids practice. Unfortunately, it practices one skill at a time and doesn't do any recall of previously learned concepts. There is an app for IXL in TeachHub.
Khan Academy offer lectures an many different subjects

OneDrive is like Google Drive - lets you share files between people in the same team (including students - the classroom is a team, as well).
OneNote is a shared Doc. It can be used as a notebook for kids
Teams enables people to collaborate more effectively. The user interface, IMHO, is not kids friendly.
Translater - translates spoken text into different languages on an iPad
Whiteboard - similar to Jambaord
Minecraft lets kids make their own world. Excellent learning tool.
I don't get this one. Epic is medical software - maybe it is used so families and kids can see their test results from medical clinics based in schools.
Reading app. There is an app for this in the TeachHub.

News ELA (as I call it - think they call it News-Ell-A), is an app that lets students read leveled texts.

NYPL app for getting digital media. There is a NYPL app in TeachHub.
Library app that lets kids get books and other media (this isn't on the official list, but I have been told it is on the iPads). Teachers can log on for free at sorapp.com.

This software does content filtering. NYC DoE information on on Z-Suite.

Brooklyn, Queens and NY Public Libraries, Destiny Discover, Sora - These apps have many different books for kids (and adults)
Ed Tech and Remote Learning - this site has the different PD offerings for teachers
FlipGrid - This app lets your students create videos to show what they are learning. They can record their faces, something else or their screen
Google Drive - This site has nothing on it yet. I assume this is going to be a Google Drive with info more different grade level and subject teachers.
Lucidchart - This site lets you create charts and flow charts
WonderamaTV - This site has show videos on different subjects (including SEL, Cooking and STEM) with worksheets. This seems to be geared to elementary students.
