The English Debating Society of Indraprastha College for Women, fondly called a “lily pad” by its members, aims to inculcate within its members, integral skills of critical thinking and oration. The society is a platform for the amalgamation and discussion of all perspectives on social, political, economic, and individual beliefs.

It is a safe space for discourse and provides training in universal debating formals like parliamentary, conventional, turncoat and more. The society strives to not only provide its members with the support and camaraderie but also to equip them with the skills that they would need to become strong, independent, level headed individuals who aren't afraid to take on the world, one word at a time.

The debating circuit is one of the most vibrant aspects of Delhi University, where people of all beliefs and leanings interact to reflect on their experiences and worldview. In the past year, the English Debating Society of IPCW has been able to access and participate in national and international tournaments alike, thus gaining immense exposure. We prioritise collective growth and provide a unique chance to experience debating and to thrive in an atmosphere where debating is more about learning and unlearning than anything else.
