EXHIBITON DAY!
EXHIBITON DAY!
On the last day, as a closing activity, we presented some of our traditions to the French students.
The first thing that we did was organise the space with the posters that each group had made. After that, we formed groups of 4 or 5 French people to move around the exhibition, and they stopped in front of each poster to read it and listen to our explanations. Therefore, posters were presented by our groups. All groups of French people went through all the posters to see all the differents cultures, traditions, food, etc, of Catalonia/Spain. The mayors and some council members of the city hall came to say some words to all the people who participated in this exciting experience. Then we saw some of the gegants of Sant Pere de Vilamajor in action dancing to the typical music. Finally, to say goodbye, some Catalan and French teachers and students said some words of gratitude.
In these pictures, we can see some of the groups with their posters, and one picture of all the Catalan and French teachers and students with gegants de Sant Pere de Vilamajor and the European flag at the back, representing the Erasmus program.
PERSONAL OPINION
A student who guided:
I could see how the French students paid a lot of attention to the different groups explaining the Catalan culture, and I also could see that all or almost all the typical foods here are there too. On the contrary, some of the activities like the "tió" or the "gegants" are unique and seem quite strange to them.
A student who presented:
As a personal opinion, I found these presentations very useful, because they didn't know anything about our culture and letting them know a bit more about it was very interesting. One of the things that surprised them the most was the tió because for them it was strange that one log poops presents.
