Description: TedEdClub Baix Camp is an organisation in our region that gives the chance to students to show their perspective on a prescribed topic. This year, the topic was "The future" and Pol and I decided to adress an important topic, which is the future of transportation in our region, Camp de Tarragona.Â
Planning/previous thoughts: We felt this was a relevant and urgent issue, especially because the region is growing and public transport is limited and unreliable.
We were concerned about how this could affect students, workers, and the environment in the coming years. The uncertainty around how the mobility plans made us feel that this topic needed to be talked about more openly, especially among young people.
Activity's valoration: We worked together to research current infrastructure, upcoming projects, and what is needed. Then we structured our talk to raise awareness and propose ideas for a more connected andsustainable future. Presenting it at the TedEdClub event was a moment of pride. I enjoyed collaborating with Pol, practicing public speaking in an auditory, and having the opportunity to express our views on something that affects our daily lives.
Final reflection: This experience showed me how I can become part of change. I felt that our message was relevant and necessary, and the audience felt reflected on it. It also reminded me that young people can contribute ideas and solutions when given the space and time. Through this project, I improved my research, teamwork, and presentation skills and I became more aware of how much our region’s future depends on better planning and more community engagement.
EVIDENCE
This picture shows me with my friend pol before doing the presentation. We were a little bit nervous, but it ended up being fantastic.
