📌 Pavelló municipal d'Almoster

Description: To get some money for investigation about sexual and reproductive health, our school organised a walk from our high school facilities to a terrain in Almoster to ensure health and consciousness about it. As IB students, we were in charge of ensuring that everyone through the correct place and my friend Pol and I volunteered to get the most difficult task: ensuring everyone went through the right path.

Planning/previous thoughts:  We knew it would require a lot of attention and responsibility, especially with a large group. I was motivated to help because I believe raising awareness about these topics is important, and I also wanted to push myself to take on a leadership role.

I knew I was positioned along a more confusing part of the route, where some participants wanted to take shortcuts or go off-track. We had to stay alert, guide people clearly, and sometimes repeat directions patiently. 

Activity's valoration: It required a lot of communication and coordination between us. At some moments, it was tiring, but it also felt rewarding to know that our role was important for the success of the event. By the end, we had managed to keep the group on the right path, and everything ran smoothly. 

Final reflection: I learned a lot about teamwork, collaboration, and the value of minor tasks in bigger events from this experience. Our contribution directly affected the event's success, despite not being the most obvious. I also realized how crucial it is to contribute to health education programs, and how even something as easy as taking a walk can raise awareness of a serious issue. I came away from the exercise with improved communication and leadership abilities, as well as a greater understanding of the variety of ways that service can be provided.
