Description: To encourage future students to take the IBDP next year, an open day in February is organised. In that day, the coordinator explains what is the Diploma about and the subject choices that our school offers. After that, the IB students, to renforce their CAS experiences, do the tour in the facilities to explain their experience and show the classes with the teachers.

Planning/previous thoughts: I saw this as a chance to share my experience during my first year of the IBDP and encourage others to consider this option to study. I felt excited to help, but I also wanted to explain the programme in a realistic and encouraging way (which was a difficult equilibrium). We prepared to guide the visitors around the school, explain our subjects, and answer all their questions and doubts regarding the admission process and the DP itself.

Activity's valoration: I enjoyed being able to explain how the DP and CAS work and what kind of projects and activities we have done so far (that weren't few). Many students seemed interested and asked questions, and I was more than happy to share my perspective. It was also great to work as a team with my classmates Mayssa and Laura during the tour.

Final reflection: This activity helped me reflect on how much I’ve grown since I started the IB in September. Explaining the programme made me realise how valuable it has been in academical and personal terms. I developed communication skills and I felt sympathy for the students because I was once where they were.

I also saw how important it is to guide and support others in making big academic decisions, like choosing this studies. I hope some of those students decide to take the IB and we hope to have been their source of inspiration.
