WHOLE SCHOOL
Dear IICS Community,
I hope this message finds you well. As we continue to foster a vibrant learning environment at our school, I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to all the parents who have stepped up to get involved with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) this year. Your commitment and dedication are invaluable to our community, and your participation plays a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience for our students.
The PTA serves as a vital link between parents, teachers, and the school administration, and it thrives on the enthusiasm and support of our parent volunteers. I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to those who have taken on roles within the PTA Executive Committee. Your efforts not only help in organizing events and activities but also contribute to fostering a sense of community and collaboration among all stakeholders.
For those who are interested in learning more about the PTA and its members, please refer to the PTA section on Friday Flash, where you can find information about the Executive Committee and the initiatives they are undertaking.
Thank you once again for your involvement and support. Together, we can continue to create a nurturing and enriching environment for our children.
Warm regards,
Nicolaas Mostert, Head of School

SECONDARY SCHOOL
Dear Secondary Parents,
A few important reminders for the upcoming weekend and next week:
- **Fun Run Tomorrow**: We look forward to seeing our students and families at the Fun Run, followed by a picnic on our beautiful Marmara campus. The event begins at **10:00 AM**, so if you haven’t signed up yet, please do so! It’s going to be a fun-filled day.
- **Class Trips Next Week**: Monday will be a regular school day, with students receiving final reminders for their trips during the last half hour. Please ensure you’ve reviewed the trip letter carefully and that your child knows their designated meeting points and times. These trips promise to be unique, tying curriculum with the locations visited and providing great opportunities for students to bond with their grade level groups.
Have a lovely weekend! We’re excited to share all the wonderful experiences our students will have on the class trips next week.
Best regards,
Aaron & Omer
A big congratulations to our 2023-2024 Grade 10 Cohort! In the Spring they finalized and submitted their Personal Project reports which detailed the planning, process, and outcomes of their Personal Project. Their reports were marked and submitted to the International Baccalaureate Organization, and we are excited to announce:
Average Score: This cohort achieved an impressive 4.6 average surpassing this year’s world-wide average of 4.01
Learners are receiving a direct message this afternoon with their individual results included.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in the Personal Project journey. The dedication from supervisors and community members — from regular meetings to providing feedback, participating in interviews and research — has been instrumental with this significant cohort. We look forward to working with the 2024-2025 cohort as they embark on their Personal Project journey.
This year’s Grade 10 had an introduction to the Personal Project in June of last school year. They have been revisiting their ideas and will be having check-ins regarding their projects one to two times weekly during Advisory time. All learners have been assigned an individual Supervisor this week who will work with the learner and serve as a resource and accountability guide throughout the process.
There will be an informational session for Grade 10 Parents in October to share more information about the Personal Project and how you can support your learner in this process. More information to come.
Once again, congratulations to the 2023-2024 Grade 10 cohort and best of luck to them as they begin their journey in Grade 11!
