At ICS, we believe that how we support our teams and artists is just as important as the final score or the applause. When we host other schools, we are not just spectators; we are ambassadors. Every interaction tells our guests who we are as a community.
To ensure our events remain a celebration of talent and community, we frame our expectations through the ICS Way:
We act with integrity and self-control, knowing that true pride comes from how we conduct ourselves, not just the outcome of the game.
Own Your Actions: We take responsibility for our emotions and reactions, staying calm and composed even during intense moments of competition.
Wear the Colors with Pride: We represent ICS by dressing appropriately and wearing our school colors to show unity.
Be a Role Model: We recognize that younger students and visiting families are watching us; we act in a way that makes us proud to look in the mirror.
We treat our campus as a home that we are inviting guests into. We show pride in our facilities by treating them with the utmost respect.
Respect the Venue: Whether it is the gym, the theater, or the field, we treat the facilities and equipment with care.
Leave No Trace: We take initiative to clean up after ourselves and others, ensuring the bleachers and common areas are spotless when the event ends.
Create a Welcoming Atmosphere: We ensure our campus looks its best, clearing pathways and making space so our guests feel comfortable and accommodated.
We are gracious hosts and fierce but fair supporters. We build community by uplifting everyone involved in the event.
Cheer FOR, Not Against: We focus all our energy on encouraging our ICS peers. We applaud good plays and performances, regardless of which team makes them.
Honor the Officials and Coaches: We accept the decisions of referees, judges, and coaches with respect, understanding that the event cannot happen without them.
Welcome Our Guests: We go out of our way to be helpful to visiting students and parents, offering directions, a smile, or a "good game" to make them feel welcome at ICS.
While we want everyone to enjoy the spirit and excitement of these events, it is vital to remember that attendance is a privilege, not a right.
When you attend these events, you are the face of ICS. Therefore, there is zero tolerance for behavior that fails to meet these expectations.
We will not permit individual behaviors to reflect badly on our community. Any student who is unable to uphold the ICS Way—by showing disrespect to guests, officials, or the facilities—will be asked to leave immediately and will lose the privilege of attending future extracurricular events.
Let’s show our guests what makes the ICS community so special. Let’s lead with kindness, cheer with passion, and host with pride.
Go Eagles!
