Welcome to the ICS Middle School!
No matter whether you are a student, staff, parent, guardian, or visitor, we are excited to welcome you to learn more about our exciting middle school programs through our Middle School Handbook.
The ICS Middle School program is grounded in our school’s Mission, Vision and Values. The ICS Way encourages us to engage as a community by caring for ourselves, each other, and this place. Building from this, we strive to create a Highly Effective and Learning Progressive program based on each student’s personal interests and needs. As students progress through middle school, they will be challenged to develop and demonstrate the IB Learner Profile traits, so that once they leave ICS, they can thrive in our complex and ever-changing world.
The middle school years are a time of significant growth, discovery, and change. At ICS, our goal is to partner with families to support students as they navigate the academic, social, and emotional challenges of early adolescence. While we strive to empower our students to take ownership of their learning and develop independence, we also recognize the importance of structure, guidance, and strong relationships during this stage of development. This handbook is designed to outline the support systems, expectations, and opportunities in place to help every middle school student thrive throughout their journey at ICS.
