This article briefly sums up some of the challenges with interactive videos for learning. Students may need prior knowledge activated to make full use of video elements, some students may feel they are learning less from gamified videos, and educators may neglect other effective ways of delivering content if interactive videos are used too frequently.
This article discusses the use of videos in education, including many of the benefits and challenges. For example, it can be beneficial for online students to see their instructor in a video to feel more engaged with the content.
