Mae wedi bod yn wych gallu ymgartrefu’n ôl yn llif yr ysgol ar ddiwedd ein hwythnos lawn gyntaf ar ôl y Nadolig a’r aflonyddwch tywydd. Gall mis Ionawr fod yn oer, gwlyb ac yn eithaf digalon, ond hoffwn ofyn yn garedig iawn ein bod i gyd yn gwneud pob ymdrech i sicrhau presenoldeb uchel. Mae’n hollbwysig i staff allu cefnogi cynnydd pob disgybl drwy eu gweld yn rheolaidd yn y dosbarth.
Hoffwn hefyd bwysleisio pwysigrwydd ein system gyfathrebu gyda theuluoedd, Bromcom. Dylai pob teulu fonitro’r ap hwn yn rheolaidd gan ei fod yn cynnwys gwybodaeth hanfodol am fywyd yr ysgol. Un adran rwy’n ei argymell yn gryf i’w gwirio’n ddyddiol yw’r ymddygiad: gallwch weld yn glir ble mae eich plentyn wedi derbyn canmoliaeth, ond hefyd os oes unrhyw bryderon wedi cael eu codi’n gynnar mewn unrhyw agwedd o fywyd yr ysgol. Mae’n hanfodol ein bod yn cadw teuluoedd yn wybodus am gynnydd ac ymddygiad eu plant; mae hyn yn sicrhau bod y triongl ysgol–disgybl–rhiant/gwarcheidwad yn aros yn agos ac yn gryf.
Roedd yn wych gweld cymaint o ddisgyblion yn mynychu ein Noson Agored Chweched Dosbarth ddydd Mercher, a gweld disgyblion o ysgolion eraill hefyd yn ystyried YUA. Diolch o galon i’n pennaeth chweched dosbarth, Madame Bourg, ac i Mrs Hannah Worrall am eu gwaith caled, ynghyd â’n staff a’n prif ddisgyblion.
Cadwch lygad am fanylion ein Noson Agored TGAU sydd ar ddod, a hefyd am y sesiwn ar-lein i rannu gwybodaeth am ein Polisi Ffonau Symudol newydd dros yr wythnosau nesaf!
It has been wonderful to settle back into the flow of school at the end of our first full week following Christmas and the recent weather disruption. January can be a cold, wet and gloomy month, but may we kindly ask that everyone makes every effort to ensure high attendance so that staff can support pupils’ progress as effectively as possible.
I would also like to highlight the importance of our family communication system, Bromcom. Every family should be monitoring this app regularly as it contains essential information about school life. One area I strongly encourage families to check daily is the behaviour section: you can clearly see where your child has received praise, but you can also see at an early stage if any concerns have been raised in any aspect of school life. Keeping families informed about progress and behaviour is crucial, and it ensures that the school–pupil–parent/guardian triangle remains strong and supportive.
It was fantastic to see so many pupils attend our Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday, and to welcome visitors from other schools who are also considering YUA. A huge thank you to our Head of Sixth Form, Madame Bourg, and to Mrs Hannah Worrall for their hard work, along with all staff and our senior prefects.
Please keep an eye out for details of our upcoming GCSE Open Evening, as well as the online information session introducing our new Mobile Phone Policy over the next few weeks!
Dyma atgoffa i rieni a gofalwyr disgyblion Blwyddyn 8 fod gwybodaeth wedi’i hanfon adref ynghylch y brechiad HPV sydd ar ddod, gan gynnwys y ddolen i gwblhau’r ffurflen e‑gydsyniad. Mae’n hanfodol bod pob rhiant yn cyflwyno ymateb — naill ai ‘ie’ neu ‘na’ — gan na ellir gadael y ffurflenni heb eu cwblhau. A fyddech cystal â sicrhau bod y ffurflen e‑gydsyniad wedi’i chwblhau erbyn Dydd Gwener, 23 Ionawr 2026. Os oes angen rhagor o gyngor neu os oes gennych gwestiynau am y brechiad, cysylltwch â’r Tîm Nyrsio Ysgol gan ddefnyddio’r manylion a ddarparwyd yn y llythyr gwreiddiol. Diolch am eich cydweithrediad.
This is a reminder to all parents and carers of Year 8 pupils that information has been sent home regarding the upcoming HPV vaccination, including the link to complete the e‑consent form. It is essential that all parents submit a response — either ‘yes’ or ‘no’ — as forms cannot be left incomplete. Please ensure that the e‑consent form is completed by Friday, 23rd January 2026. If you require any further advice or have questions about the vaccination, please contact the School Nursing Team using the details provided in the original letter. Thank you for your cooperation.
Noson Agored Chweched Dosbarth – Digwyddiad Llwyddiannus ac Ysbrydoledig
Roedd ein Noson Agored Chweched Dosbarth ddiweddar yn llwyddiant ysgubol, gyda nifer uchel o ddisgyblion a’u teuluoedd yn mynychu. Roedd y digwyddiad yn gyfle gwerthfawr i ddarpar fyfyrwyr archwilio’r amrywiaeth eang o gyrsiau a chyfleoedd sydd ar gael yn ein Chweched Dosbarth.
Agorwyd y noson gyda areithiau gan y Pennaeth a Phennaeth y Chweched Dosbarth, a rhannodd wybodaeth bwysig am y cwricwlwm, y systemau cymorth a’r gwahanol lwybrau sydd ar gael i ddysgwyr wrth iddynt symud i’r cam nesaf o’u haddysg. Roedd eu mewnwelediad yn helpu teuluoedd i ddeall yn well beth i’w ddisgwyl a sut mae ein Chweched Dosbarth yn paratoi myfyrwyr ar gyfer astudiaeth bellach, hyfforddiant neu gyflogaeth. Drwy gydol y noson roedd staff wrth law i gynnig cyngor pwnc‑benodol ac i ateb cwestiynau, tra bu myfyrwyr y Chweched Dosbarth presennol yn rhannu eu profiadau o fywyd yn yr ysgol.
Roeddem wrth ein boddau i dderbyn adborth hynod gadarnhaol gan rieni a gofalwyr, gyda llawer yn canmol yr awyrgylch groesawgar a’r cyfathrebu clir. Roedd disgyblion yn dangos brwdfrydedd gwirioneddol am eu dewisiadau yn y dyfodol ac am y cyfleoedd sy’n eu haros wrth iddynt baratoi ar gyfer y cam nesaf yn eu taith addysgol.
Os oedd rhieni neu ofalwyr yn methu mynychu’r digwyddiad, mae croeso iddynt ddilyn y ddolen isod i gyrchu’r Arolwg Opsiynau a’r Prospectws Chweched Dosbarth, sy’n cynnwys yr holl wybodaeth allweddol a rannwyd yn ystod y noson.
Sixth Form Open Evening – A Successful and Inspiring Event
Our recent Sixth Form Open Evening was a great success, with an excellent turnout from pupils and their families. The event provided a valuable opportunity for prospective students to explore the wide range of courses and opportunities available in our Sixth Form. The evening opened with speeches from both the Headteacher and the Head of Sixth Form, who shared important information about the curriculum, support systems, and the many pathways available to learners as they move into the next stage of their education. Their insight helped families gain a clear understanding of what to expect and how our Sixth Form equips students for future study, training, or employment.
Throughout the evening, staff were on hand to offer subject-specific guidance and answer questions, while current Sixth Form students shared their own experiences of life at the school. We were delighted to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents and carers, many praising the welcoming atmosphere and clear communication. Pupils expressed genuine excitement about their future options and the opportunities ahead as they prepare to take the next steps in their academic journey.
If parents or carers were unable to attend the event, please follow the link below to access the Options Survey and Sixth Form Prospectus for all the key information shared on the evening.
