Mae cyfnod arholiadau wedi dechrau i nifer o’n disgyblion yma yn yr ysgol, ac felly hoffwn estyn dymuniadau gorau iddynt oll. Diolch hefyd i’r holl staff sydd wedi dangos ymroddiad gwirioneddol drwy gynnig sesiynau adolygu ychwanegol yn ystod amser cofrestru, cinio ac ar ôl ysgol — mae’r gefnogaeth hon yn rhoi’r cyfle gorau posibl i bawb i lwyddo. Fedr neb ofyn mwy na’ch ymdrech a’ch penderfyniad i wneud eich gorau glas.
Bu’r ymateb i’r daith sgïo yn wych — yr un gyntaf ers cryn amser yma yn Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi. Diolch o galon i staff yr Adran am eu gwaith manwl a’u hymrwymiad i drefnu’r daith, sy’n gyfrifoldeb sylweddol. Hoffwn atgoffa’r disgyblion lwcus sydd wedi sicrhau lle bod disgwyl ymrwymiad o’r safon uchaf mewn pob agwedd ar fywyd ysgol; mae rhestr aros ar waith, felly mae’n bwysig parchu’r cyfle a’r fraint. Ein gobaith yw y gall y daith ddod yn ddigwyddiad rheolaidd eto yn y blynyddoedd i ddod.
Hoffwn hefyd ddiolch ymlaen llaw i’r disgyblion fydd yn cynrychioli’r ysgol yn y Gwasanaeth Coffa dydd Sul, ac yn enwedig i Mrs Toft am eu paratoi, ynghyd â’n Prif Swyddogion am eu darlleniadau.
Yn olaf, llongyfarchiadau mawr i Gwen ar gael ei phenodi’n lysgennad i’r Coleg Cymraeg — braint arbennig iddi hi’n bersonol, ac yn adlewyrchu’n glodwiw ar ein hysgol a’n cymuned.
The examination period has now begun for a number of our pupils here at school, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish them all the very best of luck. Sincere thanks also to all members of staff who have shown such dedication by offering additional revision sessions during registration, lunchtimes and after school — this support gives every pupil the best possible chance to succeed. No one can ask for more than that you give your very best effort.
The response to the school ski trip has been fantastic — the first one in quite some time here at Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi. My heartfelt thanks go to the staff within the Department for the immense work and commitment required to organise such a trip. I’d like to remind those pupils who have secured a place that the highest standards of commitment are expected in every aspect of school life in the meantime; there is a waiting list in operation should spaces become available. We hope this can become a regular event once again in future years, so pupils are encouraged to recognise the privilege and responsibility that comes with being chosen.
I would also like to thank in advance the pupils who will be taking part in the Remembrance Service on Sunday, especially Mrs Toft for preparing them, and our Head Officers for delivering the readings.
Finally, warmest congratulations to Gwen, who has been selected as an Ambassador for the Coleg Cymraeg — a tremendous honour for her personally, and one that reflects so positively on our school and community.
Yr wythnos nesaf, byddwn yn cymryd rhan yn falch yn Wythnos Gwrth-fwlio, ymgyrch genedlaethol sy’n hyrwyddo parch, cynhwysiant a charedigrwydd mewn ysgolion.
Fel rhan o’r dathliadau, byddwn yn ymuno â’r ymgyrch Diwrnod Sanau Od. Ar dydd Llun 10fed o Dachwedd, anogir disgyblion i wisgo sanau od i’r ysgol i ddathlu’r hyn sy’n ein gwneud yn unigryw ac i godi ymwybyddiaeth am bwysigrwydd sefyll yn erbyn bwlio. Mae Diwrnod Sanau Od yn ffordd hwyliog a syml o atgoffa pawb ei bod yn iawn i fod yn wahanol, ac y dylem drin ein gilydd gyda charedigrwydd a pharch. Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at weld llawer o gyfuniadau lliwgar a chreadigol o sanau yr wythnos nesaf! Diolch am eich cefnogaeth barhaus.
Next week, we will be proudly taking part in Anti-Bullying Week, a national campaign that promotes respect, inclusion, and kindness in schools. As part of the celebrations, we will be joining the Odd Socks Day campaign. On Monday 10th November, students are encouraged to wear odd socks to school to celebrate what makes us all unique and to raise awareness about the importance of standing up against bullying. Odd Socks Day is a fun and simple way to remind everyone that it's okay to be different, and that we should treat each other with kindness and respect. We look forward to seeing lots of colourful and creative sock combinations next week! Thank you for your continued support.

Rydym yn falch iawn o gyhoeddi bod Zac Green wedi cael ei ddewis yn Llysgennad Arian ar gyfer Ceredigion Actif, gan gydnabod ei botensial fel arweinydd ifanc yn ein cymuned. Yr wythnos diwethaf, cymerodd Zac ran yn niwrnod hyfforddiant Llysgennad Arian Ceredigion Actif, lle ymunodd ag arweinwyr ifanc uchelgeisiol eraill o bob cwr o’r sir. Roedd y digwyddiad yn llawn gweithgareddau ysbrydoledig yn canolbwyntio ar ddatblygiad arweinyddiaeth, gwaith tîm, a dysgu sgiliau newydd, i rymuso pobl ifanc i wneud gwahaniaeth cadarnhaol yn eu hysgolion a’u cymunedau. Llongyfarchiadau i Riley Smith, Rhodri Howell-Williams, a Jasper Bramhall-Thomas, a gynrychiolodd Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi yn falch yn eu hail gêm o’r tymor ar gyfer Tîm Bechgyn Dan 14 Cymdeithas Bêl-droed Ceredigion. Teithiodd y tîm i Sir Benfro ar gyfer gêm gystadleuol iawn. Er gwaethaf amodau tywydd heriol, dangosodd y ddau dîm benderfyniad a sgiliau gwych drwy gydol y gêm. Yn anffodus, daeth y gêm i ben gyda colli 2–1, gyda phenderfyniad dadleuol yn gwneud y gwahaniaeth rhwng y ddau dîm. Er bod y canlyniad yn siomedig, roedd perfformiad ein chwaraewyr yn llawn ymdrech, gwaith tîm, ac ymroddiad. Da iawn Riley, Rhodri, a Jasper, fe wnaethoch gynrychioli eich ysgol yn falch ac roedd eich perfformiad ar y cae yn wych!
Congratulations to Riley Smith, Rhodri Howell-Williams, and Jasper Bramhall-Thomas, who proudly represented Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi in their second match of the season for the Ceredigion Football Association Under-14 Boys Team. The team travelled to Pembrokeshire for what proved to be an extremely competitive fixture. Despite battling through challenging weather conditions, both sides showed great determination and skill throughout the match. Unfortunately, the game ended in a 2–1 defeat for Ceredigion, with a controversial decision proving to be the difference between the two teams. While the result was disappointing, the performance from our players was full of effort, teamwork, and resilience. Well done Riley, Rhodri, and Jasper, you represented your school with pride and gave a fantastic account of yourselves on the pitch!
