Croeso’n ôl i bawb i’r flwyddyn galendr newydd! Gobeithio fod pawb wedi cael gwyliau a seibiant buddiannol, ac yn edrych ymlaen at dymor newydd ffres.
Dechreuodd y flwyddyn yn eithaf dramatig gyda chau’r ysgol oherwydd y tywydd garw, ac hoffwn ddiolch i bawb am eu hamynedd a’u cefnogaeth yn ystod y cyfnod hwn.
Rwy’n edrych ymlaen at groesawu disgyblion Blwyddyn 11 sy’n ystyried ymuno â’r Chweched Dosbarth i’n Noson Agored nos Fercher nesaf. Bydd cyfle i drafod yr opsiynau sydd ar gael yma yn yr ysgol: mae gennym draddodiad cryf o lwyddiant academaidd yn y Chweched Dosbarth, ac rydym yn gobeithio cynnig cwricwlwm cyfoethog ac amrywiol yn seiliedig ar adborth a diddordeb ein disgyblion Blwyddyn 11.
Hoffwn hefyd longyfarch disgyblion Blwyddyn 11 ar eu canlyniadau TGAU a dderbyniwyd yr wythnos hon: mae eu gwaith caled a’u hymroddiad wedi rhoi sylfaen gadarn iddynt, ac rwy’n ddiolchgar i’r staff am eu cefnogaeth anhygoel ar ran ein disgyblion.
Diolch hefyd i’r Adran Ieithoedd am drefnu’r daith i weld Mary Poppins yng Nghaerdydd – taith wych a dychweliad eithaf anturus yn y tywydd garw! Diolch i’r teuluoedd unwaith eto am eu hamynedd a’u dealltwriaeth ar y noson.
Wrth ddechrau blwyddyn newydd, mae’n gyfle gwych i feddwl am yr hyn y gallwn ei wella ynom ni ein hunain. Yn hytrach na gosod targedau enfawr, beth am ganolbwyntio ar y pethau bach, realistig? Cyrraedd ar amser, gwisgo’r wisg ysgol yn gywir; ceisio bod yn bresennol mor aml â phosibl i roi’r cyfle gorau i ni ein hunain; meddwl am ein gweithredoedd, ein geiriau, a sut rydym yn trin ein gilydd – a cheisio bod yn garedig bob amser. Nid oes neb yn gwybod beth mae eraill yn mynd drwyddo, ac mae ymdrechu i fod yn garedig yn sylfaen wych ar gyfer pob llwyddiant.
Diolch, Trystan Phillips.
Welcome back everyone to the new calendar year! I hope everyone's had a restful and enjoyable break, and are looking forward to an exciting new term!
It’s been quite an eventful start with the school closure due to adverse weather, and I’d like to thank everyone for their patience and support during that time.
I’m looking forward to welcoming Year 11 pupils who are considering joining our Sixth Form to our Open Evening next Wednesday. This will be an opportunity to discuss the options available here at school: we have a strong tradition of academic success in the Sixth Form, and we hope to offer a rich and varied curriculum based on the feedback and interests of our Year 11 pupils.
I’d also like to congratulate our Year 11 pupils on their GCSE results received this week: their hard work and dedication have put them in a strong position, and I’d like to thank the staff for their incredible support on behalf of our pupils.
Thank you also to the Languages Department for arranging the trip to see Mary Poppins in Cardiff – a fantastic experience and quite an adventurous return in the bad weather! Thank you to families once again for your patience and understanding on the evening.
At the start of a new year, it’s a great opportunity to think about what we want to improve about ourselves. Rather than setting huge resolutions or targets, how about focusing on small, manageable, realistic ones? Arriving on time, wearing the correct school uniform; trying to attend school as often as possible to give ourselves the best chance to succeed; thinking about our actions, our words, how we treat each other – and always striving to be kind. Nobody truly knows what others are going through, and aiming to be kind is a fantastic foundation for all success.
Thank you, Trystan Phillips.
Wrth inni ddathlu llwyddiannau rhagorol ein disgyblion a chefnogaeth anhygoel ein staff gyda chanlyniadau TGAU yr wythnos hon, rydym yn falch o wahodd pob disgybl darpar i Noson Agored y Chweched Dosbarth yma yn Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi.
