At Cwm Clydach Primary School, we believe that every family is valued as an integral part of our community.
We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing and safe environment in which our children are challenged to grow as persevering, confident and unique individuals showing readiness to become lifelong learners. We develop our learners to be both physically healthy and emotionally secure through embedded trauma informed practices and our whole school approach to wellbeing. We encourage optimism by celebrating ambition, remembering that mistakes are proof that we are trying.
For us, success means that our children believe in reaching their full potential, whilst always showing respect, kindness and honesty, valuing and understanding the differences across Wales and the world.
Our vision for Cwmclydach Primary School was developed with our staff, pupils, governing body, parents and wider stakeholders. To fulfill our vision, we ensure all children are nurtured, healthy and valued. We encourage and provide ambitious and challenging opportunities for all children to be the best they can be. We facilitate a broad and balanced curriculum, where all individuals are heard which influences our school life. We inspire enterprising, bilingual and digitally competent learners ready to be a healthy citizen of the evolving modern world.
At Cwmclydach Primary School, we believe that our pupils should understand and practice values that will enable them to lead happy and successful lives, both in school and in the future.
These Values are:
Kindness and Empathy
Equity and Equality
Respect and Understanding
Honesty and Trust
Responsibility and Community
Optimism and Resilience
Each half term we focus on a chosen value, whilst recapping on the others. Each week the children are given opportunities to nominate their peers who have shown the values consistently.
