Welcome to our School council web page where you will find the magical and exciting activities that the School council of Cwmclydach Primary school have planned with some help from our teachers.

What do we do?

The School Council has planned many events and will  plan more in the future, here are the ones the School Council have planned so far.

• Elf Day, this was a very fun day and we got to have hot chocolate and mini Victoria Sponge rolls, when we watched a author read us a story about elves.

• Pudsey Day, this child in need day was organised by our School Council, on this day we dressed up in Pudsey outfits, and our School Council gave out cakes for money to give to the child in       need annual charity.

• World Book Day, on this day all pupils dressed up as a story book character, and a book trade was organised by the School Council. Poems were made throughout year 6, just for some writing skills on that day.

• You Rock Day! This day was a very fun day where you had to dress up as your inspiration, someone who inspires you. Pupils all around the school would participate in fun activities including making a PowerPoint of who inspires you and all about them. Also on this day the year 6 teacher Mrs Edwards got us a cardboard cut out of the Rock, Dwayne Johnson.

 The School Council are also getting ideas for Red Nose Day, this Friday the 18th of March. The theme is "humour" so dress in something funny for this Red Nose Day! 

Play ground equipment

We are looking for new yard equipment for the yard because all of the equipment is falling apart so we are going to replace it.We are going to replace the climbing frame with a bigger and better one for us.we are getting a new football pitch and the outside of it is going to be green and we are hoping to get new things in the future and we will update you in the future. 

Action Plan

These are the targets we decided to work on this year. They are;

1.  Invite visitors into school to provide inspiration to children e.g. Sion Tomas Owen, Rhys Paralympic, Authors etc.

2. To organise fundraising activities throughout the year in order to aid various organisations e.g. Mcmillan, NSPCC, Children in Need.

3. To help clean the community by taking part in litter picking activities posters to be developed that could be put in community design a poster competition for the school.

4.  Make our playground better campaign purchase new equipment for outside and golden time suggest ways to keep the playground clean.

5.  To take part in a variety of competitions e.g. Design Christmas cards, recycle batteries etc. School council to research what competitions are running throughout the year.
