been learning about.
Our topic this term is Back to the future, where we have been extremely busy learning all about what life was like in our local mining community.
We have thoroughly enjoyed learning about what life in the coal mines was like, for both children and adults.
Mr. Luckwell let us borrow a very old and precious family Davey lamp, which everyone in class used different medium to draw a representation of. We definitely have budding artists!
An amazing tram full of black coal was made by a very talented class member and their father Mr. Jones.
Everyone used charcoal to create outstanding pictures of the Cambrian Wheel.
The whole class have fully engaged with the topic and have become very knowledgeable.
They are developing enquiring minds about the world they live in.
We took part in a Mabinogion Workshop on Tuesday 15th February 2022
We listened to the story of Culhwch and Olwen, from the Mabinogion.
We all had great fun performing scenes, using our own imagination.
I think we have quite a few budding actors!
Everyone had a fantastic time taking part in a Cambrian rugby skills session for St. David's Day!
We were all in awe of the amazing harpist Glenda Clwyd.
In class we looked at Celtic Art. Some made Celtic stone art and others chose to make beautiful daffodils. We used air-drying clay.
What superb artists! Everyone watched a tutorial on how to draw a dragon. They looked fantastic!

We examined a fossil photograph and drew what we thought the creature would have looked like.
We looked at fossils and measured their perimeter. We tallied all the results and used J2e data to create a bar chart.
We really enjoyed being Palaeontologists!
We had great fun excavating fossils, just like Mary Anning!
We all worked super hard when we had to be fossil detectives!
We used air-drying clay to make a Gentoo Penguin.
We used Minecraft Education to create the Gentoo Penguins Environment.
We made a nest from pebbles, just like the Gentoo Penguins.
