Come and see what we have been learning in our classroom!
As part of Sky Access All Arts Week in Dosbarth Oren, we took part in a number of different activities to explore different areas of 'the arts'. We focused on singing, dance and photography! Have a look at what we got up to below!
We looked at different pictures and discussed how we thought each image was feeling, thinking or saying.
We discussed how the different facial expressions showed us how that person may be feeling!
We then had a go at taking our own pictures of different emotions!
We also looked at dance and how we can move our bodies in different ways!
We loved exploring different movements and getting ideas from our friends! We also made dancing ribbons to go with our performance!
We also looked at singing and using our voices.
We loved doing the vocal 'Mexican wave' and had lots of fun thinking of new sounds we could make to go around the circle!
Termly Topic : Love Where You Live Story of the Week : Rosie's Walk
This week we have continued to explore the story 'Rosie's Walk' and her adventure around the farm! The children have absolutely loved listening to this story everyday. We have looked at the different positional language used and the unfortunate situations the fox gets into along the way! This week, we are challenging ourselves as we begin to write our own stories about a new adventure for Rosie. All the boys and girls have come up with some amazing ideas to write, including Rosie meeting the fox for some tea, or Rosie finding the fox and keeping him as a pet!
In Numeracy we have been exploring counting backwards and recognising tens and ones. We have been using the White Rose Maths scheme to support our focused learning, as well as exploring Numeracy independently in the classroom. The children have been completing number hunts and ordering,
In Literacy we have been exploring adjectives! The children have loved playing 'Who Am I?' with Miss Curnell this week, as they had to ask questions using different adjectives to discover what monster they had on their heads! The children have also completed an adjective hunt, where the children had to find the adjectives in sentences and go on an adjective hunt around the school!
