Hello and welcome to our Nursery/Reception class page. Find out what we have been learning and the fun things we've been doing over this term.
This term we are focusing on the concept 'Kindness'.
We are looking at how we can be kind to ourselves, others, animals and our community. We will be exploring books, visiting a farm, communicating how we can be kind and doing a litter pick around the school grounds.
Our topic for this term has been celebrations, we kicked this off by looking at weddings. We learnt all about the different people within a bridal party and the role of a vicar. We held our own class wedding, we really enjoyed eating cake and dancing the afternoon away.
We have been learning lots about Chinese New Year traditions. 2022 is the Year Of the Tiger. We have looked at all the Chinese Zodiac Animals, made lanterns and even made our own dragon to do a dragon dance with lots of drums and tambourines. We finished off with trying Chinese food from the local Chinese takeaway, kindly donated by The Chen family.
This term we are focusing on numbers, we are doing lots of reciting, counting objects, number rhymes and formation of numbers. We will be ordering numbers, finding the missing numbers and finding the value of numbers. We have daily Big Maths sessions as well as focus tasks and independent 'Time to Shine' activities.
This term our topic is Cariad/Love. We will be discussing self-love and creating a poster about what we love about ourselves. We will also be discussing the things and people we love followed by what we love about our community. We will be celebrating St Dwynwen's Day and Valentine's day and making Kandinsky style love hearts.
