Dosbarth Aur - The oldest class in the school where learning is fun and engaging. Here you will find lots of information about our class and what we have been doing in lessons. Despite Covid regulations, we have welcomed a number of visitors both virtually and in person during last term.
We also visited Pentre Council offices where we completed coding activities and realised our ambitions and wishes for the future.
Please remember to bring your swimming kit every Friday this term. This includes towel, goggles and swimwear.
We have been writing poetry on Welsh landmarks and Landscapes in a bid to become Bard of Cwmclydach 2022. We are very proud of our work.
Sign language to the Welsh National Anthem. We all enjoyed learning this very much
We learnt how to pronounce some difficult Welsh words and enjoyed performing this with some dramatic effects
This wasn't like our normal whole school St. David's Day celebrations but this was the next best thing!! A huge "Da Iawn" to our Cwmclydach 2022 winner and to all the participants in this special event. We are so proud of you all.
St. David's Day - Just some of our fantastic daffodil designs. We really enjoyed making these.
This was another highlight of our day listening to the fantastic harpist accompanied by our school secretary Miss Gregory. It was lovely to hear "live " music
This was the winning poem - Cwmclydach Bard of the Year 2022 - Landmarks and Landscapes
Some of our pictures from World Book Day 2022
These are the group practicing their performances of our class book "The Quilt"
We rehearsed and performed our scripts to the rest of the class. Peer assessment judged the winners.
Well done to you both. You worked really hard today and this was well deserved.
This has been our Welsh History week and we have thoroughly enjoyed researching information about World War 2 and creating a variety of work to show case. These are some of our pictures.
We researched on the internet some ideas for outside equipment
This was the beginning of our Enterprise week where we decided on a product and also on a Logo. We thought "Accessories at Aur" would be a good idea and we need to now decide on how we are going to design this on the computer.
We have had a very interesting week with a message from a gentleman called Phileas Fogg. He wants us to help him travel around the world in 80 days. He sent us a code and we found that he landed with a parachute in the yard.
We have been busy recording podcasts and finding out costs for our friend Phileas Fogg. We planned the route around the world and looked at the cheapest and easiest route for him to travel on. It was very interesting finding out the big differences in flight costs.
We had a very exciting week taking part in the Book Slam competition. The judges were very impressed. Huge Thank You to Mrs Thomas for all her hard work and Mrs Dickenson for helping to learn all our lines.
So proud of our school choir representing the school at the 57th anniversary of the Cambrian disaster. They were requested to sing "Working Man" by David Alexander, a fitting tribute to the miners who lost their lives; their behaviour was also commended as impeccable by members of the community.
We loved learning sign language and listening how to learn first aid. It was very interesting and informative.
