At the Center for Open Education, we accept inquiries and questions regarding Online Learning. For this meeting, we chose to focus on several topics we often receive questions about: information concerning ELMS usage, how to show only feedback (and not scores) on assignments given out over Moodle, and information about how much time it takes to upload videos to My Mediasite.
Several instructors have made it clear that, when conducting Online Classes, they would like to know if there is a replacement for clickers or how they can gauge student interaction. In response to this, we introduced the voting function on WebEx. First, we showed how to bring up the voting screen, then moved on to showing how to add the content of your question and possible answers, share the results of voting, and finally save the results. In order to demonstrate how to do this, we uploaded a pre-made .atp file with a question and answers to WebEx and had participants vote on the topic
Through the chat function, we received questions concerning topics such as why one instructor was unable to display the topic they prepared in advance for Moodle and how to switch WebEx's display into English. We have added our answers to the FAQ, so please take a look there for more info.
We would like to thank all of our viewers today. Additionally, we offer a special thanks to those kind enough to answer questions in the chat while participating.
Today's materials are available in the following PDF (English Available)
From here on out we will focus primarily on answering questions during these meetings. Depending on demand, we will still provide mini lectures and introduce cases. We look forward to your continued support in our endeavor to create a campus-wide community dedicated to sharing information concerning Online Learning.
