Minnesota Virtual Academy must follow certain procedures when students withdraw from school. Parents are responsible for making the school aware that the student is withdrawing by notifying the student's teacher or advisor. This is usually done in a phone call or an email. Occasionally, MNVA is notified of a student's withdrawal with a record request from the student's next school.
Parents need to provide this information when notifying MNVA of a student's withdrawal:
The withdrawal reason
Where the student will be attending after the withdrawal
What date the student is starting at the next school
After a parent lets us know they wish to withdraw their student, an email will be sent to the Learning Coach with the link for the Parent Electronic Withdrawal form. Upon receipt of the withdrawal form, the registrar will call the next school to confirm that the student is, in fact, transferring. As part of the withdrawal procedure, parents may receive a follow-up call from the K12 Advocacy Team.
In order to start the withdrawal process, parents can access the link below and fill out the electronic withdrawal form. Please select the reason for the withdrawal, list the name of the new school and the start date there. Once you click on the "submit" button it will be complete. If there is a gap between the end date you indicate for us, and the start date at the new school, you may have truancy issues arise. Your student should remain with us (and log in) until the new start date. We cannot process your student's withdrawal until a completed form is sent back to us.

K12 will advise you about returning the equipment and/or books via email. They will be using the email address that you provided on your account and will send you a link to UPS to get your pre-paid shipping labels.
We would like to thank you for your interest in MNVA and wish your student the very best in future endeavors. If the educational needs of your student changes again in the future, please keep MNVA in mind.
