As a public school, MNVA must abide by truancy statutes set by the State of Minnesota. The county of residence will be contacted if truancy concerns arise. If you have barriers preventing your student from having strong attendance, please contact Amanda Moburg, Student and Family Advisor for students with last names A - K at amoburg@mnva.org, or Kris Nitti, Student and Family Advisor for students with last names L - Z at krnitti@mnva.org.
For specific information regarding which date and/or course was marked absent, please log into your Infinite Campus account. If you have not set up your Infinite Campus account, please email info@mnva.k12.mn.us and request support.
If you have any questions as to why your student was marked absent, please contact the MNVA teacher(s) that marked your student absent.
We request you support your student's attendance and engagement by ensuring that he/she:
is logging into every class every day (from their student account)
attends all required class connects, either live or via the recording and submitting all work associated with that session
completes all of their work and lessons according to classroom expectations
spends at least 30 hours a week on school-related tasks (includes online and offline tasks)
Elementary Students: Learning Coaches log the student's attendance.
Failure to complete all of the daily lessons/assignments may be considered an absence for each class with a missed lesson/assignment. Additionally, failure to attend required class connects (either live or through the recording) and submission of the associated assignments may be considered an absence for that class period.
Middle School and High School Students: Teachers log the student's attendance.
Failure to complete the daily lessons/assignments may considered an absence for each class with a missed lesson/assignment. Additionally, failure to attend required class connects (either live or through the recording) and submission of the associated assignments may be considered an absence for that class period.
A parent/guardian would notify the school building if a student was not in attendance at a brick and mortar school. Similarly, a parent/guardian must notify MNVA if a student is absent. This is done through the MNVA Attendance Form that can be found on the MNVA Website at https://www.mnva.us/ . If you have trouble locating it, please don't hesitate to reach out. Please note that the form must be filled out by a parent/legal guardian for any student under the age of 18.
