940 PHOTOGRAPHY I
Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 * .50 Credit

Fulfills MMC graduation requirement toward 1.0 credit in Visual, Performing, or Applied Arts.
Students learn the basics of Digital Photography including how to use a Digital Camera and how to use the Mac OS X operating system. Students will learn digital imaging software for processing digital photographs. They will also learn about the History of Photography, famous photographers, photographic composition and the elements and principles of design. Materials needed: Students are required to have their own thumb drive & SD memory card, and encouraged to have their own tripod. Fee: TBD.
941 PHOTOGRAPHY II
Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 * .50 Credit

Prerequisite: C or higher in Photography I (940 or 90940)
Fulfills MMC graduation requirement toward 1.0 credit in Visual, Performing, or Applied Arts. Students will continue their exploration of Digital Photography and how to operate their individual cameras. This class is a bridge between Photography I and Advanced Photography. Students will expand on photography techniques and skills covered in Photography I as well as more complex camera and composition skills. They will also begin to develop their personal photo style and work with themes. Adobe Photoshop will increase the student’s ability to edit photos and learn key design concepts. A digital portfolio is compiled throughout the semester of student’s work. Materials needed: Students are encouraged to have their own thumb drive, SD memory card, and encouraged to have their own DSLR camera, a tripod and SD card reader. Equipment will also be available for checkout.
