Prerequisite: An intro level art course and an advanced level class: Painting (1934 or 1935), Advanced Digital Imaging (1948), Advanced Photography (1943), 3-D Design Advanced (950), Ceramics (945)
Fulfills MMC graduation requirement toward 1.0 credit in Visual, Performing, or Applied Arts. This class is intended to help students prepare for the AP Studio
Art Portfolio. The AP Portfolio is designed for students who are seriously interested in the practical experience of visual art.
The AP Portfolio is not based on a testing exam but through the evaluation of student collection of work (portfolio) at the end of the year. The AP Studio Art program consists of the choice of three portfolios: 2D Design, 3D Design and Drawing. Students may submit one, two or all three of the portfolios. The portfolios consist of two content areas; Selected Works (5 High Quality Examples), and Sustained Investigation (15 examples of practice, experimentation and revision) .
