This IB English course, the first part of a two-year sequence, not only prepares students for various IB assessments in both the 11th and 12th grade but it also provides valuable opportunities to develop important writing, speaking, and leadership skills, all while engaging students with challenging multicultural texts and acclimating them to the kind of literary analysis they'll encounter at the under- and postgraduate levels. Strong ACT preparation is a daily feature of the class, and students are pushed to expand their vocabulary and strengthen their command of the basics related to grammar and usage. And the two-year course offers students an opportunity to build an impressive long-range portfolio of their literary analysis work.
