The site plan can use a few adjustments and then I suggest letting it breath until the team can get input from CAS, Principals, and teachers. Adjust the parking to 90 degree parking with adequate aisle to meet code - the aisle if single direction is effective for one lane of queuing and one lane for pass through. - Brian
Courtyard/Plaza is great but too vast and large. Cost is a concern but also doesn't feel as intimate. Can we tighten it a bit and keep the public zone a bit tighter? It also allows for more space for both the ES and MS areas which right now feel squeezed. Moving the Cafetorium allows kitchen access off one of the parking zones saving some cost. Could we study looking at using the plaza as part emergency access for vehicles instead of doing a road all the way along the backside? - Liz

Likes: gym and library location for community use. Swapping the outdoor dining with the back of house kitchen although we still need to mask the back from the main drive.
Dislikes: elementary still feels far from the shared program. I would prefer middle further away as they can walk more. I personally don't like the buildings in rows like you are showing unless there is a strong reason why we need to lay them out like that. If they need to remain more bar-building and less 'small villages' maybe we can play with the way they are sited and try to create some interesting interstitial space between them.
I also wonder do we really need all this parking? Would be good to try to drill down on what the requirement is (note to self: we can add this as a question to Brenda/DOE).
The street at the center subdivides the site.
Top left: Community area; Top right: Middle school; Bottom left: Elementary school; Bottom right: field
The roadway encircling the school may cost too much to construct.
Classroom buildings on the north side, aligned with the slope to minimize the grading work.
Vehicle access to the cafetorium is a challenge.
Classroom buildings are clustered together with a courtyard in the middle to create a "village" feel.
Covered play courts on the main street, accessible to the public after school. Access control, such as fences around the play courts, may be too close to the street, giving an oppressing feeling. Fire vehicle access to classroom buildings needs to be addressed.
The fields are away from the steeper north section preventing needs for greater grading works.
Subdivide sections based on the topology. The main field is accessible from the park. The south west corner is public-shared spaces.
