PROJECT SANTA

- 2018 -

"Project Santa," which is a gift-giving donation drive for Hokkaido child care centers during the holiday season.

We would like to ask the HIS community to support this project by donating gifts, which will be taken to three centers in Hokkaido (Hokko Gakuen in Ikutahara near Kitami and Kousho Gakuen in Sapporo)

Starting on Monday November 19th, students are asked to bring donated gifts to HIS. Please read the following instructions carefully:

- Price range of a gift from 1500 yen to 2000 yen

- Each student should buy a present for their same gender and age level.

- Families with more than one child at HIS are welcome to donate just one gift total if they would prefer

- NO CARDS / LETTERS / NAME should be attached to the gift

- Please write your age, gender, a simple description of the gift on a “post-it” and attach it to the gift. (ex; “age 7, girl, stuffed animal”)

- Please do not write anything directly on the present

- Important: Please do not wrap the gifts

- All gifts should be store-bought (no used or 100 yen shop items please)

Presents are to be brought to HIS by: Wednesday, December 5th (at the latest)

* Elementary Students: Student Council will collect your gifts from your homeroom teacher

* Secondary Students: Please deposit gifts in the box found at the library desk

- 2017 -

'Thank you' message from the head of one of the childcare centers we supported. He wrote:

"All the children were delighted to have thoughtful gifts from HIS. The gifts matched each child's personality and taste perfectly, to the point that we asked ourselves 'How did they know that this child wanted this as present?' Not only the children but also the staff were very happy.

Please forgive me for not writing you to greet or to thank you sooner, before New Year has arrived, due to the end of year hustles.

Children write thank you notes to Mr. Kaufman, as they believe that the present is from Santa Claus and I apologize for not being able to share their appreciation directly.

Please forgive my rudeness and I sincerely hope that you keep supporting us, together with Mr. Kaufman.

I wish to everyone at HIS a year filled with happiness ."

This project could not have been possible without your support and we appreciate your generosity. Also, a big thank you goes to the members of Student Council, who helped to collect the presents and to wrap them beautifully!

THANK YOU! Presents were collected yesterday to be delivered to the children at Child care centers. Students helped to wrap the presents beautifully. I heard so many wow's from both students and parents who saw the piles of presents being loaded to the van. This would not have been possible without your support. We appreciate your generosity. (December 12th)

UPDATE: As of this morning, we have about 60 presents. Thank you for those who already brought presents. If you have not, please support this project as we need a little bit more presents to cover all the presents for children at the centers. We appreciate your generosity. (December 4th)
