The Fall Festival is the biggest PTA-sponsored event of the year, and it is open to everyone. Many visitors come to enjoy different games and international foods prepared by secondary students and the PTA. Profits from this event contribute to a major part of the PTA grants given each year to the school to support students' learning. Also, it is a chance for secondary students to raise money for class projects and service trips in the future.
Fall Festival was a big success! We had so many visitors and profit from the event had increased compared to last year. (Details will be shared as soon as they are available.) This could not have been possible without your help and we appreciate your support. To make next event even better, if you have any feedback, please feel free to contact us by writing to PTA e-mail address or dropping a note to mailbox in front of the office.
100 yen per ticket. Sold at the entrance between 8:15-8:45 and 15:00-16:00.
November 3rd, 2017 10:00-14:00

We will be putting up the sign in MPR window. It will take only 15 minutes or so. If you have some time after picking up your child, please join us!
PLEASE DO NOT START BEFORE 15:30, AS THERE IS CLASSES GOING ON!
September 27th, 2017 at 15:45 in 206
We will be talking about what the Fall Festival is and how you can support the event. Also, we will explain about where the profit from the event goes.
You cannot make it to the meeting? There will be more meetings coming up! Information from the meeting will be shared in "Documents" section later.
Tickets:
All the food and activities will be paid with tickets. There are two kinds of tickets:
Please do not accept raffle tickets for payment of food or activities.
PTA will be purchasing a hoover board and lift tickets as raffle prizes.
Prices of the products were checked and purchase of above items will be about the same as what we spent on Playstation 4 last year.
Setting up information:
On November 2nd, we will start setting up in the gym from 15:10. Please do not start before, as there will be a class taking place in the gym.
*Setting up will start from bringing tables to the gym and covering them with colored paper found next to EY classroom. If you are assigned to a booth, please help your booth then others.
*Details to be announced for those who will be borrowing materials (such as a microwave) from PTA. As electric power supply is very limited in the gym, it would be nice if you could use non-electric material in place of electric one.
Food Booth:
We will be having 8 food booths, drinks and bake sale from PTA.
For the booths with representative present, they have explained their menu and plates/cutlery needed were discussed.
*Booth representatives: If you have not informed PTA your menu, materials needed and kind of plates and/or cutlery needed, please contact PTA as soon as possible.
We talked that it would be nice if each booth can prepare 80 or more servings per booth.
To help PTA organized activities at Fall Festival, there are three things would love to ask your donation:
1) RAFFLE PRIZE
It can be a thing (new and unused, can be for children or for grown ups) or an experience (dinner for two, concert ticket, hotel voucher).
2) SWEETS for TRICK OR TREATS
Individually wrapped candies, chocolate, cookies or any kind of sweets. They can be left in a box labeled “PTA Trick or Treat” in 206
3) BAKED GOODS
We will be having a bake sale, which was very popular last year. It can be sweets or savory, no need to be wrapped by portions (ex. whole cake can be uncut, cookies don’t need to be wrapped individually). Please bring them either on November 2nd to 206 or on November 3rd to the gym.
We appreciate your generosity and support.
WHAT IS FALL FESTIVAL?
Fall festival is one of the biggest PTA sponsored events at HIS.
WHAT DOES PTA DO?
* Sell hot/cold drinks and international food.
(Egyptian, USA, Indonesian, Japanese, Peru, Russia, Singapore, Thai, Chinese, Korean)
* Have bake sale (sell home baked sweets and savory)
* Organize games (trick or treat, cake walk, arts&craft)
* Sell Raffle tickets
(Prize is donated by shop/restaurants in neighborhood and parents /guardians)
* Secondary students and their class will be also selling food and organizing games. Students are in charge of their project from planning to cleaning up. PTA will not financially support them as it is part of their learning but we work in collaboration to make the event more fruitful. The money they raised will be saved for their service trips in the future.
WHERE DOES PROFIT GO?
Throughout the year, the PTA gives grants to support students’ learning. A large part of these grants come from the profit from the Fall Festival.
Last year, PTA grants were given for the purchase of:
* Tents for the outdoor education program
* Referee stand for sports activities
* Guitar stands for after school lessons
* 15 tables (used for multiple events at school, including FF)
* Sound system in MPR
* Gifts for departing teachers
* Books for the library
* Display boards for Art Work
* Storage boxes for school concert costumes
* Volleyball team uniform
...also supported:
* Junior service trip airfare
* Fee for the instructors for Elementary Ski Day
HOW CAN I HELP?
We need a lot of volunteer in different areas:
* International food booth (setting up the booth, shopping, cooking, selling)
* Set up and clean up (setting the tables, decorating the booth, etc.)
* Donations for bake sale and sweets for Trick or Treat
* Raffle prize (ex: hotel/restaurant coupons, concert tickets, basket full of goodies, etc.)
It is a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends!
