PTA Survey 2017-2018 result

Thank you for those who have shared their feedback and thoughts on this year's PTA. Here are the result of the survey and answer to some of the questions asked.

Q1: Are you aware of the new PTA website? PTAのウェブサイトがあることをご存知ですか？

A: YES: 69.6 % NO: 30.4%

From Megumi for PTA -> We will try to let everyone know about PTA website and what kind of information can be found there.

Q2: Please give us some feedback about the website. ウェブサイトに関してご意見があれば教えてください。

A: The website is an excellent way to communicate to HIS parents; however, we sometimes find the information is out of date or not as current as we would like.

-> We will make sure that the information is up to date next year. At the same time, please let us know if you notice an error or something that need to be changed or updated.

Q3:We have contacted parents mostly by e-mails and through Husky Express (Hex) announcements throughout the year. Which means of communication would you prefer we use to keep you informed? 年間を通して、主にE-mailとHusky Express (HEx)で保護者の方への連絡を行ってきましたが、どのような方法での連絡を希望されますか。

A: E-mail: 78.3%, Hex (Husky Express, online weekly news letter) 13%, Printed letter: 8.7%

-> We will keep our current way of communication, through e-mails and Hex. As for printed letter, HIS is working on being ecological and trying to use less papers. However, if you would like to have a printed one for a specific reason, please contact pta.sapporo@gmail.com.

Q4: Please indicate what sorts of things you would like the PTA section of HEx to inform you about. HExのPTAのセクションで、どのような情報を知らせて欲しいですか。

A: What has been presented in the Hex is very good. I hope you keep using that medium with similar kinds of information.

A:PTAに携わっている人、そのポジションを知らせてほしい。(誰がどの様な役割をしているのか定かではないので。) I would like to know who is working for PTA and their position (It's not clear who is at what position).

-> We will post 'who's who' after the first PTA Steering Committee meeting in September for next year.

A: Events update

-> We had created each events page on PTA website this year and will continue working on them so that they will help you better informed.

Q5: Did you know that there is PTA e-mail address to which you can write questions or suggestions? 質問や提案を送れる、PTAのE-mailアドレスがあることをご存知でしたか。

A: NO: 52.2% YES 47.8%

-> We are always happy to hear your suggestions and to answer your questions! You can contact us at pta.sapporo@gmail.com or at our mailbox which is located in front of the office.

Q6: Is there anything unclear to you about the HIS PTA and / or its activities? HIS PTAについて、またその活動について不明瞭なことはありますか？

A: NO: 91.3% YES: 8.7%

A: What is the mission of HIS PTA?

-> Description of what HIS PTA does can be found on its website under 'What is HIS PTA. However, we do not have a clear mission statement. We will be discussing about it in the first meeting.

Q7:Do you have any suggestions and/or is there anything you believe could be improved in the PTA? PTAに関してご意見はありますか。また、改善されるべきことはありますか。

A: I think the PTA does an outstanding job. And you work is very much appreciated.

A: いつもありがとうございます。

A: How can we voice our concerns about the school. PTA should not just be a volunteer group, but a group of parents and teachers to raise issues to improve school as a whole.

-> That is an important issue to be discussed in September meeting. I'm hoping that PTA will be more than a fundraing/event organizing group, which "facilitates communication and promotes understanding and cooperation among students, parents, teachers, administration and the Executive Board" as what HIS PTA says.

A: PTA NEWSの日本語版を要望します。

-> We know that some of parents/guardians have language problem. English is the common language at HIS and we had limited sending e-mails in Japanese this year, considering it is hard to translate into all the language needed. If you need a language support, having a Japanese/English exchange coffee time for parents/guardians can be a solution. If you are interested, please contact pta.sapporo@gmail.com.

A: Tended to involve the same people in PTA core members. Hopefully they don't mind doing the work.

-> The reason behind is that we do not have new members to take over and we always need to have certain number of people to keep PTA running. We are looking for new members and everyone is welcome! If you would like to join, please contact pta.sappoto@gmail.com. The more the merrier!
