NY Times Student Podcast Competition
In psychiatric history, women have been silenced over and over. Because of the not-so-hidden misogyny in not only men, but society as a whole, the pain of women was often overlooked. I’ll be exploring the dehumanization and misdiagnoses/mistreatment of women that were deemed “insane” by doctors in the 18th to 20th century: lobotomies, psychiatric wards, and hysteria.
