Hi, I’m Michael Heit, an 8th Grade Teacher at Herricks UFSD. I’m passionate about empowering students to explore creativity and communication through dynamic, hands-on courses like Content Creation Foundations, where we dive into the art of podcasting, and Broadcast Beginnings, our exciting new class focused on video morning announcements. When I’m not guiding students through these innovative electives, you’ll find me teaching 8th Grade Science, fostering curiosity, discovery, and a love of learning in the classroom.

At Herricks Middle School, we believe in giving students the tools to share their stories, develop their voices, and connect with the world through creative media. From podcasting to video production, our programs emphasize collaboration, critical thinking, and storytelling that celebrates diverse perspectives and student talent.

CONTENT CREATION

This year, our talented learners have already laid the groundwork with foundational episodes and are gearing up to launch the highly anticipated third season of podcasts. Each episode showcases their creativity, dedication, and the unique voices of our school community.

BROADCAST BEGINNINGS

Step into the exciting world of video production with our Video Morning Announcements program! This hands-on course empowers students to craft dynamic and meaningful stories that inform and inspire our school community. Through this project, students not only explore the art of storytelling but also develop essential skills in media production, collaboration, and communication.
