Congratulations, Superintendent Scholars!

Congratulations to our Superintendent Scholars!
During the 2024-25 school year, eighth graders at all five junior high schools took the PSAT exam. Many of these students had such a high score that Dr. Joe Harrington, Superintendent of HEB ISD, identified them as Superintendent Scholars.
Dr. Harrington and Cheryl Harris, Coordinator of Advanced Academics, visited TCC this week to personally congratulate our students who received this awesome recognition. They informed our Superintendent Scholars of the opportunity they are being given to participate in a summer enrichment and exam preparation course that will help them as they continue their path to hopefully become a National Merit Scholar!

Averey Perez, Cooking Club President (4th period), introduced Mr. Justice Bray, Restaurant Leader of Raising Cane's Hurst, to the club's members.
Mr. Bray informed the students about the history of the Raising Cane's empire. An inspiring story of true grit and determination that resulted in a top-rated, fast-food restaurant chain. He also brought everyone in the club their own delectable chicken finger meal!
Thank you for visiting us and giving our students such words of encouragement, Mr. Justice Bray!

Now that STAAR testing is complete, take a look at the May exam schedule and TSI testing dates shown above.
TSI Testing
Select students who still need to pass one or more sections of the TSIA2 will be required to attend the TSIA2 Intersession on Thursday, May 21st. We will follow our normal schedule, and buses and child nutrition will also run as normal.
Students will be required to test in all sections they have not yet passed, which could include up to three TSI ELA Multiple Choice, TSI ELA Essay, and TSI Math. We will know which specific exams are needed after our last round of testing on Friday, May 15th.
Students must pass all of these tests to continue into full dual credit courses in their junior year.
