Bridging the Gap
This work will not be submitted but will provide a good foundation of knowledge that will give you a positive start with your course.
Your focus before starting the course should be completing the transition task, spend some time looking at the different photographers listed and select the ones that interest and inspire you the most. Another useful area of research will be the photography blogs that have been listed, try to familiarise yourself with key photographic genres and historical/modern photographers that create imagery in these specific areas. Finally, we strongly suggest all photography students watch ‘The Age of the Image’ a four-part series produced by the BBC and available on YouTube, and a new series coming to the BBC this summer called ‘The Great British Photography Challenge’ hosted by Rankin.
