Volcano erupting.
Volcanoes have three stages, being Active, Dormant, and Extinct. Active volcanoes are erupting volcanoes, or volcanoes that have erupted in the last 10,000 years. Dormant volcanoes are volcanoes that aren't erupting now, but may erupt sometime in the future. Lastly, Extinct volcanoes are volcanoes that are not likely to ever erupt again, and if they do not have a magma supply. That means that they are possibly no longer a threat.
A Volcano is a rupture in the Earth's lithosphere, where you will find toxic substances such as magma. Magma is lava inside a volcano. Volcanoes are measured on the VEI scale (Volcanic Explosivity Index), ranging from a scale of 1 - 8. When a volcano erupts, a flow of fast moving magma known as a pyroclastic flow.
Volcanoes that have a lower VEI erupt more often. Volcanoes with a VEI of 1 erupt every day. Volcanoes with a VEI of eight while more powerful erupt every 10,000 years. Volcanoes are also most commonly found where tectonic plates converge or come together.
To survive a volcano you need to stay inside and remember to not go outside without a mask. Make sure to have a emergency kit ready. Remember the best way to survive a volcano is to evacuate.
Planetary volcanoes?
Other planets have volcanoes too! Venus is very volcano rich, as it has many volcanoes. Mars also has some volcanoes.
