Registration

MEdT courses are not published in the online class availability. This is how we reserve seats in the class for you and the other members of your cohort. Although your seat is reserved, it is your responsibility to register for the course by the specified deadlines. In addition, the course meeting dates/times will not be shown in myUH. Your cohort coordinator(s) will distribute your CRNs and course meeting dates, times and locations. Many courses are variable credit courses. Your cohort coordinator will specify the number of credits that are required. It is the student's responsibility to register for the correct number of credits. Students are also responsible for retaining CRNs and course meeting dates/times/locations. Students should also familiarize themselves with the registration information from the UHM Records Office: http://manoa.hawaii.edu/records/register/ Outreach College registration deadlines can be found by entering your CRN on this website: http://outreach.hawaii.edu/calendar/main.html

Please visit the MEdT Website for the current program sheets. Please consult your cohort coordinator for guidance on professional specialization courses.

How to Register (Before the Registration Deadline)

Registration must be done on-line via the new STAR GPS Registration System. The University of Hawaii does not offer an in-person registration option. For instructions on how to register, visit the STAR Help: http://star.hawaii.edu/help/#/.

Because MEdT courses are not published, you will need to search for the course by its CRN. To register for the course, use the following search parameters:

    1. Campus: Select Manoa campus

    2. Semester:

      • If using a 5-digit CRN, select Fall or Spring

      • If using a 4-digit CRN, select Fall Extension or Spring Extension

    3. CRN: Enter the CRN given to you

    4. Click the Search Button

Why are we using two types of CRNS? The 5 digit CRNs represent courses offered through UH Mānoa day school. This generally represents courses for the face-to-face cohorts. The 4 digit CRNs represent courses offered through Outreach College. This generally represents courses offered in a hybrid format for our statewide and face-to-face cohorts.

Registration after deadline (UH Manoa)

UH Manoa CRNS are 5 digits long. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that registration is completed by the designated deadline. Registration deadlines are posted to MyUH and the UH Manoa Website. Failure to register by the deadline will require the student to do the following:

    1. Complete the paper forms that can be downloaded here:

      1. MEdT Petition for Late Registration Form (required for both Add & Drop)

        • Your explanation must include that you have been attending classes since the start of the semester.

      2. Add and/or Drop Form

    1. Obtain approval from the instructor as indicated with their signature on the Add and/or Drop form.

    2. Bring your completed Add and/or Drop form and MEdT Petition for Late Registration form to the MEdT Office in Everly Room 221 for approval by the Graduate Chair. Add or Drop forms submitted without an accompanying petition will be returned to the student. If the office is closed, the form may be left in Academic Support Specialist's mailbox in Everly 223.

    3. Once the forms are signed by the Graduate Chair, the student should take the forms to the Graduate Division for approval by the Graduate Dean. Once the Graduate Dean approves, Graduate Records will send the form to the Registrar's office so the appropriate change can be made.

Registration after deadline (Outreach College)

Outreach College CRNS are 4 digits long. You must select the "Extension" semester, e.g. Fall Extension. Registration deadlines for Outreach Courses can be looked up here: http://www.outreach.hawaii.edu/calendar/main.html. Deadlines vary from course to course, so please check the deadlines for each class separately. Failure to register by the deadline will require the student to contact Outreach College Student Services for instructions on how to add/drop a course after online registration has closed: http://www.outreach.hawaii.edu/myuh/registration.asp#assistance.

Withdrawing

Beginning Fall 2015, students may drop ALL of their classes online after the semester has begun, up to the sixth instructional day of the semester when no “W’ is given for classes that are dropped. If you have a hold that prevents registration activity and would like to drop all classes, please send an email from your "hawaii.edu" account to uhmanoa.records@hawaii.edu requesting to have all of your classes dropped. You will receive a confirmation email once the withdrawal process has been completed.

If you are attempting to drop a class after the sixth instructional day when a "W" is given for classes that are dropped, contact the Graduate Division (link to:http://manoa.hawaii.edu/graduate/content/contact-us). For information on Complete Withdrawals, see their website: http://manoa.hawaii.edu/graduate/content/withdrawal and the Withdrawing from UH Manoa website http://manoa.hawaii.edu/records/register/withdrawals.html.
